James Grier was born in 1974, to Sara and John Grier. His father was an NHS GP, and his mother was a nurse who went on to become President of Plymouth Age Concern. He grew-up in the suburb of Tamerton Foliot, helping at the local church as an altar server. He attended the youth group at the minster church of St Andrew’s before starting his own youth group at his home church, St Mary’s, Tamerton Foliot. WebApr 1, 2024 · James attended Plymouth College from 1978 -1992. Following university he trained for ordination in the Church of England. He returned to Devon in 2007, but never made it all the way back to Plymouth. With his wife and a team, he started a new church to work particularly with teenagers with little or no interest in faith or church.
